(CelebrityAccess) — As of Friday afternoon, the now-ended campaign, established by her sister in the wake of the accident, had raised more than $58,000 dollars.

“Your generous outpouring of love, well wishes and financial support this past week has been life changing. Your unflinching solidarity speaks volumes about who we are as a community – kind hearted, compassionate, and true. I will never forget this feeling of you having my back – it will keep me going when I’m afraid and inspire me to push harder when it hurts,” Janet Weiss said in a message posted to the GoFundMe page.

“But seriously HOLY SHIT you guys the GoFundMe was such a massive success! You raised more than double the original goal and delivered hundreds upon hundreds of messages of love and encouragement. Countless friends, fellow musicians, music publications and fans from all over shared the link – I just couldn’t believe my eyes. My mind is blown and my heart is full and I am forever grateful for your help. Music has always been my vehicle for bringing people together and for creating a little world of collaboration, equality, and kinship. This week that world got a LOT bigger! THANK YOU,” Weiss added.

The accident, which occurred on August 10th after a car driven by Weiss and her partner Drew Grow, was struck by another vehicle. The impact left Weiss with a broken left collarbone, and fractures to both legs, while Drew escaped relatively unscathed with a broken rib.

Following the crash, Weiss underwent surgery and will be confined to a wheelchair for at least twelve weeks while she recovers. The accident forced the cancellation of her joint tour with her bands Quasi and Slang, including a 5 day “residency” in Portland in October.
