FRANCE (CelebrityAccess) French entertainment and leisure business leaders have answered the call by president Emmanuel Macron to help financially with Paris’ burnt Notre-Dame cathedral.

Billionaires François-Henri Pinault and Bernard Arnault, the heads of companies Groupe Artimes and LVMH, respectively, have promised donations of €100 million and €200 million, which has started a wave of support for the cathedral.

Artemis has a controlling interest in luxury goods group Kering, which owns Gucci, Yves St. Laurent and the Stella McCartney fashion house. It also had a 25 percent stake in Fnac Darty and owned and operated the 1,024-capacity Marigny Theatre in Paris, according to IQ Magazine.

LVMH has entertainment holdings like hotel chain Cheval Blanc, radio station Radio Classique and private equity firm L Catterton Asia, which includes in its investments K-pop firm YG Entertainment, whose act Blackpink recently appeared at Coachella.
