AUSTIN, Texas (CelebrityAccess) Nature Ganganbaigal, frontman for the band Tengger Cavalry, known for its unique mix of traditional Mongolian folk music and heavy metal, died earlier this month according to a statement from the band.

Details of Ganganbaigal’s death are not known but he had spoken of mental health issues in the past. He was known as a prominent vocalist in the metal community and contributed to the soundtrack of the video game Doom Eternal, which is expected to be released in November. He recently told Kerrang! of his struggles with depression and suicidal thoughts and once stood atop a building with the intention of jumping off of it.

The band’s guitarist, Patrick Reilly, told MetalSucks, “We grew suspicious when he did not show up for a pre-show rehearsal last weekend. We also had a video shoot scheduled, so for him to miss that was a cause for suspicion.” The band “had been collaborating with friends of his in Austin since that time.”

Authorities reportedly told the band yesterday that they found Ganganbaigal’s body June 13.

“It is with deep sadness and shock that we must share the news that Nature has passed away,” the band said in a statement. “Nature’s greatest goal in life was the unite people of all backgrounds through community and through music. He was also an advocate for mental health, and encouraged everyone from friends to total strangers to persist through their struggles. Though we have lost a dear friend and a great artist, we know that his music will live on and continue to help us find our common ground and find our strength despite adversity. Please respect the privacy of Nature’s family during his painful time. May the Eternal Blue Sky find him at peace.”

The band’s most recent album, Northern Memory, Vol. 1, was released in March and the followup EP came out in May. The multi-instrumentalist frontman also worked as a film composer, adding music to the 2017 documentary “All the Wild Horses.”
