Men In Black International Tops The Weekend Box Office

LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — Sony’s “Men In Black International” topped the weekend box office, earning an estimated $28.5 million in its North American theatrical review. Internationally, the film launched to $73.7M, for a cumulative first week total of $102.2M globally, according to estimates compiled by Comscore.

The film, which features Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson, Liam Neeson, Emma Thompson, Rafe Spall, Rebecca Ferguson, Kumail Nanjiani, Davina Sitaram, is a reboot of the popular franchise, which first landed in theaters in 1997.

Last week’s domestic champion, “Secret Life of Pets 2” came in at number 2 for the weekend, adding $23.8 million in North America and $8.5 million internationally, for a two-week worldwide cume of $154.6M, according to Comscore.

Disney’s PG-rated “Aladdin,” now in its fourth weekend, added $16.7m in North America, and $47.5M for a global weekend haul of $64.2M. To date, “Aladdin” has generated an estimated worldwide total of $724.8M.

Fox/Marvel’s “X-Men: Dark Phoenix” slid to 4th place in its second week, earning just over $9 million domestically, and $24.2M from overseas markets, for a worldwide global cume of $204.3M.
