John Wick’s debut marks a high point for the franchise, well ahead of the original John Wick, which debuted to $14.4M in 2014 while “Chapter Two” doubled that figure taking in $30.4M.
John Wick 3 sees Keanu Reeves return as the title character alongside a cast that includes Halle Berry, Lawrence Fishburne, and Ian McShane. Worldwide, John Wick Chapter 3 cleared $92.225M over the weekend, which was also a franchise high.
While it was no longer #1 at the box office, Avengers is far from done and earned $29.411 million during its fourth weekend North American. It’s North American results bring Avengers cume in the market to $770.806 million through Sunday, passing James Cameron’s Avatar to become the second highest grossing film in North American history. Globally, Avengers raked in $76M, bringing its estimated worldwide gross to $2,615M.
