Tekashi69 Concert Canceled Because Of Felony Charge Involving Child

ORLANDO, Fla. (CelebrityAccess) A Tekashi69 concert at the University of Central Florida in Orlando was canceled by the promoter after outcries that the rapper, convicted of using a minor in a sexual performance, was unworthy of a performance at the college.

The rapper was scheduled to perform at the CFE Arena Sept. 22 but a petition calling for the cancellation of the show drew more than 6,000 signatures, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

Tekashi69, real name Daniel Hernandez, is a rising star in the hip-hop community but pleaded guilty in 2015 to the felony charge of use of a child in a sexual performance. The charge stemmed from an explicit video Hernandez, then 18, posted of him and a 13-year-old girl.

At the time, Tekashi69 had beefs with rappers Zillakami and Trippie Redd, with the latter saying “I’m sorry brozay, 1400 don’t promote pedophiles,” in a now-deleted Instagram video, according to Mass Appeal.

Mac Miller, who died of an apparent drug overdose yesterday, was scheduled to play CFE Arena in November.
